About Universal Billing
Table of Contents
Universal Billing is a Syncro feature that allows MSPs to charge End Users for integrations that Syncro resells, including Acronis, Threatdown, Microsoft 365, and Cloud Backup (for 1:1 Tenant-to-Organization relationships)). Recurring billing rules automatically adjust invoice counts as licenses are added or removed, eliminating the need for manual monthly counts.

Map Vendor Customers to Syncro Organizations
The Customer Mapping Tool is exclusive to the Universal Billing feature. You'll use the Customer Mapping Tool to link customers in your third-party vendor/applications to your Organizations in Syncro.
Prerequisites
You must have already:
- configured an integration with a marketplace vendor that's capable of universal billing,
- toggled the Universal Billing switch to On, and
- supplied your credentials (API tokens or username/password).
If you haven't done this, you'll be prompted to do so when you open the Customer Mapping Tool.
Steps
Note: For Microsoft and Syncro Cloud Backup products, there's no need to toggle Universal Billing on; it's automatic.
To map a Vendor Customer to an Organization in Syncro, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Admin tab/module.
- In the Integration section, click Customer Mapping.
- Use the Vendor dropdown menu to select a Vendor. Syncro displays the Vendor to Customer Mapping page/table for that vendor.
- For any Vendor Customers with a Map Status of “Not Mapped”, click into the corresponding Syncro Customer cell:
- Start typing the name of the Organization. When you find the one you want, press Enter. Syncro displays that Organization in the cell, and the Map Status changes to “Mapped.”
- Finally, Set Up a Recurring Invoice & Monitor Usage.
