This document describes what a Predefined Bundle is, provides instructions on how to create and edit predefined bundles, and how to add them to Invoices, Estimates, and Tickets.

Predefined bundles allow you to you group inventory (product and service) items into a single line item. This is especially useful for custom builds where you want to track inventory but don't want to show your customer everything included in that line item.

Note: Bundled items are not currently compatible with Prepay (Block) Hours or Deposits.

Create a Predefined Bundle

Use this procedure to create a reusable bundle from your inventory.

Prerequisites

Any products you want to bundle should already be in your Products & Services list. See Create a Product or Service.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the Products & Services tab.
  2. From the Inventory Modules button menu, select Bundle Items:
  3. Click +New Inventory Bundle. Syncro displays the bundle creation form.
  4. Name the bundle, provide a description, and a UPC code for the bundle:
  5. Click Create Inventory Bundle.
  6. Next, search for items in your inventory and click Add to add each item to your bundle:
It's possible to include a mix of taxable and non-taxable items. The system will handle calculating things properly for the bundle.
  7. Optionally, click into the Name, Description, Price, or UPC fields in the Bundle Information section to adjust these values.
  8. Click Back to see your bundle in the Inventory Bundles table.

Edit, Clone, or Delete an Existing Bundle

Use this procedure to edit or clone an existing product bundle.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the Products & Services tab.
  2. From the Inventory Modules button menu, select Bundle Items.
  3. Locate the product bundle you want to work with in the table:
  4. To edit a bundle, click the Edit (pencil) icon. The Edit Bundle page displays, where you can add or remove products, as well as adjust your pricing or UPC.
  5. To clone a bundle, click the Copy icon. A new bundle with the word (copy) appears in the table. Edit the cloned bundle to update the Name.
  6. To delete a bundle, click the Delete (x) icon. The bundle is immediately deleted.
Note: Once deleted, the bundle can't be added to new invoices. Invoices it's already on keep it unchanged, just like any other line item. But if you remove it from one of those invoices, it can't be re-added.

Add a Bundle to an Invoice, Estimate, or Ticket

How Bundle Line Items Behave

  • If you add a bundle to an Invoice, Estimate, or Ticket with a quantity greater than 1, it appears as a single line item with its contents and pricing multiplied by that quantity, rather than as separate repeated lines. If you want distinct line items for individual bundles, add them one at a time with a quantity of 1.
  • A bundle line item respects the same sort order as any other line item, so you can drag it above or below non-bundle line items on the same Invoice, Estimate, or Ticket.

Steps

These procedures describe how to use an existing product bundle in an Invoice, Estimate, or Ticket.

Add To an Invoice

  1. Navigate to the Invoices tab.
  2. Select the Invoice to open it.
  3. In the Line Items section, type the name of your bundle, and select it when it appears:
  4. Adjust the Quantity, then click Create Line Item.
  5. If desired, click the caret (v) to view, reorder, or modify the individual Descriptions and Rate/Prices for items inside the bundle:

Notes:

  • Only the single bundle line item is visible to the invoice recipient.
  • Predefined Bundles can be added to a Recurring Invoice line item with a quantity greater than 1. See Line Item Types for Recurring Invoices.

Add to an Estimate

  1. Navigate to the Estimates tab.
  2. Select the Estimate to open the Estimate Details Page.
  3. In the Line Items section, type the name of your bundle, and select it when it appears:
  4. If desired, click the caret (v) to view, reorder, or modify the individual Descriptions and Rate/Prices for items inside the bundle:

Note: Only the single bundle line item is visible to the estimate recipient.

Add To a Ticket

  1. Navigate to the Tickets tab.
  2. Select the Ticket to open its Details page.
  3. At the top, click Add/View Charges.
  4. In the Name field, type the name of your bundle, and select it when it appears.
  5. If desired, change the Description, Quantity, Price, etc., then click Add Item to Ticket:

Note: If a bundle containing a Maintain Stock product is added to a Ticket, Syncro reserves the correct quantity of each Maintain Stock item inside the bundle. This keeps available inventory quantity accurate and prevents another order from overselling the same stock. Removing the bundle line item from the ticket releases the reservation and restores the available quantity.
  6. Optionally, click the caret (v) to view the individual items inside the bundle:
  7. If any item inside the bundle is a serialized product, select its Serial Number from the dropdown before adding the item to the ticket.
  8. Click Close.
