When you use the Syncro-Google calendar integration:

- Deleted Google appointments are deleted in Syncro.
- Out-of-office status, read from a technician's Google Calendar. This reflects time blocked on the calendar as Out of Office, not a Gmail vacation responder. If a technician turns on a vacation responder without also blocking that time on their calendar, their Syncro calendar won't show them as out of office. When a technician is formally out of office, the dispatch agent sees that status before routing a ticket to them.
- Historical recurring appointments sync when you connect or relink your calendar. This includes recurring appointments created before you set up calendar sync, backfilled 1 year back and 2 years forward from your sync date. Recurring appointments created after calendar sync was set up sync automatically, as with any other appointment. For example, if you sync your Google calendar on July 8, 2026, and your calendar includes a recurring appointment for every Friday at 3:00 PM created in 2024, that recurring appointment displays on your Syncro calendar going back to July 8, 2025, and forward to July 8, 2028.
Note: This integration is a two-way sync. Syncing to Google Calendar occurs almost instantly, but syncing from Google Calendar back to Syncro can take up to 24 hours.
Set Up the Integration
- From your Syncro User Profile menu, select My Calendars.
- Choose the “Google Calendar” option.
- Choose the Google account to sync, then click Continue.
- Click Allow to permit access to your account:
The “Select the Calendar to Sync To” window displays:
- Click the button for the email you selected in Step 3. Your Syncro and Google calendars are now linked.
- In the Sync Gmail Calendar to Syncro section at the bottom, click Yes to turn on syncing:

Your Google calendar is now synced with Syncro with a default of “No, details currently shared.” This means your calendar is currently sharing details about your appointment with others. - If you want to keep the details of your appointments private, click the “No, details currently shared” text. It will change to “Yes, currently in private mode.” You are now only sharing free/busy information with others.
- Click the Calendar tab to return to your calendar and see the synced appointments.
Stop Syncro-Google Calendar Syncing
If you want to stop syncing your Google calendar with Syncro, follow these steps:
- From your Syncro User Profile menu, select My Calendars.
- Choose the “Google Calendar” option.
- In the Google Calendar Sync - Individual Calendar section at the top, click Un-Link Google Calendar:

Note: Unlinking the Google calendar removes any appointments in Syncro that were created through the sync.
Troubleshooting
Appointments Not Appearing in Google Calendar
If you're syncing everything successfully in Syncro but appointments still aren't showing up on your Google Calendar, it could be because your Google settings aren't set up to automatically accept other appointments.
Follow these steps to resolve this issue:
- Navigate to your Gmail account and login with the correct account (i.e., the Google account associated with https://*****.syncromsp.com/google_calendars).
- Make sure you are on the calendar, and not email. If you aren't, click the Google Apps Icon in the upper right-hand part of the screen, and click Calendar.
- In the top right-hand part of the screen, look for the gear icon. Click the drop down arrow attached to it, and click Settings.
- On the Settings for my calendars drop down, select your calendar, then under Access Permissions for Events check the box “Make available for Syncro.”
Duplicate Recurring Appointments After Relinking (EA Only)
If you previously created recurring appointments manually in Syncro as a workaround for the recurring event sync limitation, relinking your calendar triggers a backfill of those events from Google Calendar. Syncro cannot match manually created entries to backfilled events, so both will appear. Remove the manually created duplicates from Syncro after relinking.
