Use this reference to look up the variables available when writing Syncro scripts.

Notes: 

  • Platform Variables and Template Tags share many of the same {{tag}} names, but they are not interchangeable.
    • Template Tags are used in email and print templates (invoices, tickets, estimates, SMS) and include tags that only work in those contexts, such as {{ticket_number}}, {{invoice_total}}, {{ticket_public_comments}}, {{tech_name}}, and {{line_items}}. These template-only tags are not available when a script runs.
    • Platform Variables are the tags available when a script runs. They include script-specific tags that don't appear in any template, such as {{huntress_api_key}}, {{asset_pending_reboot}}, {{asset_warranty_start_date}}, and {{asset_warranty_end_date}}.
  • The <name> in {{asset_custom_field_<name>}} and {{customer_custom_field_<name>}} is a placeholder, not something you type literally. To find the actual variable name for your custom field:
    • Take the field's display name.
    • Make it lowercase.
    • Replace spaces and hyphens with underscores.

For example, a custom field named "Purchase Date" becomes {{asset_custom_field_purchase_date}}. The same steps apply to {{customer_custom_field_<name>}}.

{{asset_id}} Asset's internal ID
{{asset_name}} Asset name
{{asset_serial}} Asset serial number
{{asset_serial_v2}} Asset Syncro serial number (syn_serial_number)
{{asset_type}} Asset type name
{{asset_address}} Address line 1 (from asset, contact, or customer)
{{asset_address_2}} Address line 2
{{asset_city}} City
{{asset_state}} State
{{asset_zip}} Zip code
{{asset_custom_field_<name>}} Any asset custom field. The name is the field name, lowercased with spaces replaced by underscores (e.g. {{asset_custom_field_purchase_date}})

Default Asset Custom Fields

Note: These 10 custom fields are created by default on new Syncro accounts. Some may be blank or unavailable depending on the asset's hardware and what data the agent can collect from it.

{{asset_custom_field_device_name}} Device name
{{asset_custom_field_hdd}}  Hard drive info (manufacturer and size)
{{asset_custom_field_last_boot}} Last boot timestamp
{{asset_custom_field_make}} Device make
{{asset_custom_field_manufacturer}} Device manufacturer
{{asset_custom_field_model}} Device model
{{asset_custom_field_os}}  Operating system
{{asset_custom_field_ram}}   RAM info (size and manufacturer)
{{asset_custom_field_service_tag}} Service tag (present on Dell hardware)

Asset SNMP Variables

Variable Description
{{asset_snmp_enabled}} Whether SNMP is enabled
{{asset_snmp_host}} SNMP host
{{asset_snmp_port}} SNMP port
{{asset_snmp_version}} SNMP version
{{asset_snmp_community}} SNMP community string
{{asset_snmp_offline_minutes}} Minutes before considered offline
{{asset_snmp_auto_resolve_offline}} Auto-resolve offline setting

Asset Script-Specific Variables

Note: Availability depends on account configuration, not on the asset itself.

Customer Financials

Variable Description
{{customer_credit}} Credit balance (excludes unsettled payments)
{{customer_unapplied_credits}} Credit balance including unsettled payments
{{customer_prepay_hours}} Prepay hours balance
{{customer_open_balance}} Total unpaid invoice balance
{{invoice_cc_emails}} Invoice CC email addresses
